Background

Original Sensor

The HC-SR04 is a cheap ultrasonic sensor with numerous issues in the physical circuit and software. My goal is to not only fix these issues but expand upon the capabilities of the sensor. I will do this by swapping problematic chips, removing redundant parts, and adding triangulation capabilities in software.

Improved Ultrasonic Sensor Project

My improved ultrasonic sensor would allow a user to accurately measure the distance to the sensor. Some applications are, school projects, self driving vehicles, and distance measuring tools. This sensor is not a consumer product, it's made to be used by engineers in the previous mentioned applications.
